When the Sun Shines

Dir.: Frederik Barington | Denmark 2016 | 85 min

Death, living in the moment, and saying goodbye to those you love are the focal points of this moving Danish youth film. 17-year-old Sofus lives at a hospice and has had cancer since he was eight years old. Here, he meets Sara, who is the same age and helps out at the hospice. With her light-hearted approach and very direct manner, she manages to charm Sofus, and the two quickly form a bond, where life is in focus, and death is forgotten for a while.
