Daimi is 12 years old. She's spending the christmas days by herself in a dark and lonely home, solely accompanied by her only friend; a pet pig. Daimi's world is in decay, and she desperately seeks care from her mother, who has abandoned her. As a replacement she engages in an everyday life with the pig, where her fantasy overshadows reality. But with the sound of a scream reality soon makes itself known, as she discovers that she, for better or worse, is not as alone as she thought.

The region Thy is a magical place. A part of northern Jutland that runs on its own ressources and energies. A place in Denmark where things are allowed to grow, expand and emerge. It's a place with great plains and windswept hills. With pine woods and the great North Sea. Raw nature for tough people
The people we meet in the movie are speciel. They do not have to fit in. Because in Thy there is nothing to fit into beside the great plains. Thy gives you space Space for development for people who you wouldnt find in the tightly populated cities.
The movie is a portrait of the original Thy, as it is portratied thorugh a cinematic mosaic of 5 different characters: The curator couple John and Harald, the owner of a hunting store Powder-Peter, the cattle farmer Inger and the riding school teacher Viggo.
